Hey All,

First smoke-free day. Could use any advice or tips from any former smokers. Looking for a buddy to quit with also.

Though I have the patches - I'm quitting cold turkey (never did like that expression)and by prayer. I figure it will be a rough couple weeks but will be better in the long run by detoxing my body rapidly.

I hope you are all doing great with your wellness goals for this year. For me my weight is staying off and I have just began exercising (thanks Anna for your advice.)

Be Strong. Be Healthy.

Day Two is ending and still smoke-free! Roughest times still first thing in the morning, after dinner, and late at night while on computer. Still looking for buddy and any tips. Best of luck to anyone else who is quitting.

Geri,
Let me first congratulate you on making a very tough, but wonderful decision. Although I myself am not a smoker, my sweetheart is and is also quitting cold turkey as well. I see how challenging it is for him and am very proud of him. Not only does smoking affect the health of the smoker, but it also affect those around them. He looks better, smells better and has an all around better glow about him. Our relationship is definately benefitting from his decision. My advice to you is stick to it! It will better for you all the way around. Good luck and GREAT JOB!!!

Thanks Jody,
I really appreciate your words of encouragement.
1 Week Today!!! I am so blessed not to have suffered severe cravings or withdrawl sickness. Breaking the "habit" part of it has been the most difficult part for me. Trying to reprogram my energy and time. Best wishes to your friend - please let him know I am thinking of him and wishing him well during this time. He's welcome to drop a note from time to time. Chat with you soon, Geri
